About Me

My name is Annie! I am a NASM certified personal trainer and certified nutrition coach.

I have been a runner my whole life but found a new passion for fitness as a whole about 4 years ago. I had suffered with anxiety and depression and found myself on anti depressants at 15 years old. I hated feeling like I had to depend on a pill. A few years later I started strength training. While I was physically getting stronger, I also realized I was mentally getting stronger. I decided to try and come off my medication and I had never felt happier. Exercise became the only medicine I needed and I felt so much better. This is where I realized how much exercise can help so many different things and I wanted to use what I had learned to help those close to me. I started to help some friends and family on the side and seeing their success through my help made me realize how much I truly love it. It was always sort of a hobby helping design plans for friends and family and working out with them to get them closer to their goals, but I always saw that as the ending point. It was a dream to take my passions further and create a career out of it, but I never took the steps to go beyond what I was already doing. I graduated from Hagerstown Community College with an Associates Degree in Business Management. Two years after that I graduated from The University of South Carolina with a Bachelors Degree in Business and Hospitality. At the beginning of my Senior year at Carolina I realized I really wanted to do something within the Health and Fitness industry, but felt it was too late to change my major unless I wanted to stay in school longer. I decided to just stick with my current major and take some nutrition courses to expand my knowledge. When I graduated I immediately started applying for jobs. These jobs were mostly 9-5 desk jobs. I would go in for the interviews all dressed up and ready to start my career. A few days after the interviews I would find out I got the job and would politely decline. I couldn’t quite figure out why I wasn’t taking them because I would work so hard to perfect my interviews and would get so excited when I got the jobs, but would always find something wrong and say no thank you. Then it hit me. My heart was not in any of those jobs. That wasn’t truly what I wanted to do. It was just what I thought I was supposed to be doing. Once I realized this I decided that, no matter what, I was going to follow my heart and forget what I thought I was “supposed to be doing.” Within a week I got enrolled with the National Academy of Sports Medicine. 4 months later and endless hours of studying I passed my exam and received my official Personal Trainer Certification. In 2021 I decided to add some tools to my tool belt and went back to get my nutrition coach certification. What was once a dream is now my reality and I want to help as many people as I can through this thing I love so much- Health and Fitness.
